True Credit and Annual Credit Report

The TrueCredit.com credit report is not to be confused with the free annual credit report separately offered by the three agencies. According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), all American credit holders should be given one free copy of their credit reports every year from each of the credit bureaus. These reports can be ordered by phone or mail, or through the government-mandated website AnnualCreditReport.com.

The True Credit report, on the other hand, can combine credit records from all three credit bureaus (a single-bureau report is also available). This provides a more accurate picture of one’s credit standing, as the information is seldom identical across all three reports.

Another difference is the addition of the credit score. The FICO credit score is a numerical grade of one’s creditworthiness, or the amount of risk one poses as a potential borrower. The free annual report does not include this score; it has to be purchased separately from each of the bureaus or from myFICO (myfico.com). The True Credit report comes with a score from TransUnion or all three credit bureaus.
