What’s in a Tri-merge Credit Report

A typical tri-merge credit report will contain the credit scores from all three credit bureaus, plus the tri-merge score. The report may be divided into the following sections:

Header: Contains basic information about the borrower, such as name, address, and social security number. Previous addresses may also be included if the owner has recently moved.

Credit scores:
States the individual credit scores from each of the three bureaus, with the tri merge credit score highlighted for easy reading. Some reports will also include possible scores and adjustments when certain actions are taken.

Credit collections: Any debts submitted to collection companies will negatively affect credit scores. Often, the borrower is not aware of the collection, so this can be a problem for those with otherwise good credit.

Financial information: Summarizes the borrower’s financial standing in terms of available credit, current loans and debt, and minimum payments and balances for each.

Accounts: Lists all current and closed accounts, including derogatory ones such as bad credit loans. Current accounts include the current balances and monthly payments. For closed accounts, the reasons for closing may also be stated.

Inquiries and public records:
Reports all inquiries made into the person’s credit history by lenders and other financial institutions. Any public records, such as files on bankruptcies and foreclosures, will also be included.
