How to get a tri merge Credit Report

Most lenders will pull out a tri-merge credit report for the borrower once he or she undergoes prequalification. However, to speed up the process, one can obtain the report in advance (this can also save on administrative fees). Several companies offer tri-merge credit reports specifically tailored for mortgage applications.

Combined credit reports are usually sold to individuals. If it’s obtained by a lender, he or she may reimburse the cost in the loan’s administrative or miscellaneous fees. A few companies offer a free tri merge credit report for a limited period, and then charge the person for subsequent reports. However, some scam sites will secretly charge the cost to the consumer’s credit card or force him or her into unreasonable deals. It’s important to make sure the provider is reliable; lenders can usually provide a list of accredited tri-merge credit report providers.

On most websites, the customer will have to fill out a request form and submit it online. Once submitted, the report will usually be available in a few minutes, unless there are delays in the verification of data. Online reports can then be printed out or forwarded to lending companies or their representatives. It’s also possible to request tri-merge credit reports via phone or mail, although these usually take longer (around 15 days or more).
