Company History
Fair Isaac was established in 1956 by Earl Isaac, a mathematician, and Bill Fair, an engineer. It started out as a private consultancy firm and eventually grew into a large public company. ItsĀ headquarters are in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Currently, Fair Isaac also has operations in North and South America, Europe, Australia, and Asia.
The company is best known for having developed the FICO score, which is now the standard rating system for consumer credit risk. Fair Isaac also offers business services and management software to most of the major world banks, telecommunications companies, card issuers, and retailers.
